Clinton and Trump Dominate in South Carolina

Why did Donald Trump say those awful things about Muslims the other day? Because he's a smart guy and knew it would work with the Republican base.

A new Fox News poll shows him with a big 20-point lead in South Carolina, and that's not all:

The poll, released Wednesday, was conducted Saturday through Tuesday evenings. Trump made provocative remarks Monday about barring Muslims from entering the United States.

It looks like his comments help him in South Carolina. Support for Trump increased eight points after his statement -- from 30 percent the first two nights vs. 38 percent the last two nights. The shift is within the margin of sampling error.

Republican pollster Daron Shaw says, “There are enough people in the last two nights of the sample to question the widespread assumption that Trump’s comments will hurt him among GOP primary voters.” Shaw conducts the Fox News Poll with Democratic pollster Chris Anderson.

Bloomberg/Purple Strategies also ran a poll on Tuesday night, and this graphic says it all:

So yeah, Trump's full-on embrace of fascism is definitely getting him more support. Maybe a lot more...hence the collective primal scream from the Republican establishment.

I said it yesterday but I'll repeat it again here: There's nothing funny about Donald Trump anymore other than the GOP freakout occurring in his wake. And the worst is yet to come for them.

Meanwhile, nothing has changed for the good guys. Hillary is still on track for a massive win there, leading Bernie 65% to 21%.
