Hey y’all, just checking in on Super Tuesday 2.0 with an update!
Some of you may have read my post from a couple of weeks back called I am voting for Elizabeth Warren in the Texas primary. Well, that’s exactly what happened! I voted early for the person who I thought would be the best president. And despite what happened in South Carolina and the party consolidation that occurred in the aftermath, I am very proud and happy with my vote for Senator Warren. And I wouldn’t have changed my mind had I waited until Super Tuesday to vote.
However, in the run-up to last Tuesday, I didn’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind was blowing. Warren did have a post-debate surge after taking down Bloomberg, but it wasn’t looking like enough. Then South Carolina made the Democratic endgame completely obvious. So I wasn’t surprised that Biden crushed it in my home state and elsewhere. And frankly, because it was Bernie on the receiving end...I was pretty fine with that.
That being said, I was really struggling to hold back the tears in my cubicle when Elizabeth dropped out last Thursday. I strongly supported female candidates for president in 2008, 2016 and this year...and it stung. That fight goes on.
Anyway, I guess you can see where this is going. I’m a lifelong Democrat who has voted in every presidential and midterm election since I was first eligible to do so in 1994 (Ann Richards, baby!) and I’m not about to change now. Joe is the real deal, he’s got the experience, he’s got a progressive agenda and he’s crushing Trump in the polls.
So, folks...here’s the deal...I’m ridin’ with Biden! Now let’s do this thing, man!
